I joined the environmental microbiology group in May 2018 as a PhD candidate. I obtained a scholarship for my undergraduate from ARAMCO company followed by another scholarship from KAUST for my masters in environmental sciences. I focused on antibiotic resistance genes and bacteria and their occurrence in food produce and underground water, irrigation water, for my masters thesis. My PhD project will dwell more on the occurrence of contaminants in waterbodies and their subsequent consequences with a special interest in horizontal gene transfer of ARGs from animal farming. This project is funded by Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission and KACST.
