Data storage

 

  •  No. You are responsible for your data.
  • Any images left on the computer hard-drives are unsafe and may be deleted without warning. Store your images on the Bioimaging server or server provided by the Faculty or move the data to other media at the end of your session.
  • Please don't leave behind copies of your files because the servers/computers quickly get over-loaded by the volume of image files produced.
  • Keep in mind that no backup system is perfect and that an external hard drive, a CD/DVD or even a server do not have  an unlimited life span. Do not put all your eggs in one basket!  In other words, be sure to make “copies of copies “of  your most sensitive data and regularly save them on different media... AND do not forget to store them physically at different places ...

  • Contact us to get an access to the server
  • To map the server:

---- On your PC: 

1) Launch  “Windows navigator“

2) Enter the following address:

\\scinas-m-1.unige.ch

 

---- On your Mac:

1) Launch  “Finder“ application

2) Next, click on menu “Go“ and “Connect to server“

3) Enter the following address to get an access to the server :

smb://isis.unige.ch/medecine/             

4) Put your login and password UNIGE.
