Yoan Sarmiento obtained his Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a biology laboratory technician in September 2019. He received the Socorex Award for achieving the highest scores in the final exam in scientific subjects. He worked for the CANSEARCH Foundation until December 2022, where he managed various diverse activities as a laboratory technician. Since January 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Olha Puhach, he has joined Professor Isabella Eckerle's research group for the ongoing clinical study MiViral (SARS-CoV-2 and influenza) which is still in the recruitment phase. His main tasks include sample reception, processing, and storage.
