La CUMD organise un symposium en l’honneur du Prof. Andrea Mombelli , Professeur ordinaire et directeur de la Division de parodontologie, qui partira à la retraite fin septembre après 20 années de loyaux services et d’accomplissements scientifiques.

Ce symposium aura lieu le samedi 31 août au CMU, auditoire Alex-F. Müller (A250) avec des conférenciers de renommée mondiale qui offriront une superbe vue d’ensemble d’évidences scientifiques sur la recherche actuelle en parodontologie.

SPEAKERS' SHORT BIOSKETCH

téléchargement (6).jpgProf. Philip Marsh is Professor of Oral Microbiology at the School of Dentistry, Univ. of Leeds, UK.  He is the recipient of the ORCA-Rolex Award for Caries Research (1991), the IADR Distinguished Science Award (Research in Dental Caries)(1998), the Society for General Microbiology (UK) Colworth Prize Lecture Award for applied microbiology research (2001), and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry (2008). His research interests include dental biofilms and oral microbial ecology, especially the influence of environmental factors on the composition and activity of the oral microbiota.

 
téléchargement (7).jpgProf. Jacques Schrenzel  graduated in medicine from the University of Geneva and is a pioneer of the genomic analysis of pathogens. He is currently Head of the Genomic Research Laboratory as well as Bacteriology Laboratory at the Geneva University Hospitals. He is also the Director of the National Center for Meningococci. His Genomic Research Laboratory is actively involved in the development of methods in metagenomics and their application for medical research and diagnosis. Prof. Schrenzel is since 2016 also the coordinator for clinical microbiology in Switzerland and member of the Swiss committee of experts in biosecurity.
 
téléchargement (5).jpgProf. Dean Denis F. Kinane BDS, PhD, FDSRCS, FDSRCP has held Professorial appointments in Immunology, Pathology, Periodontology. He was Dean at UPenn Dental school, Research Dean at Louisville and worked 15 years at Glasgow University. His research focus is in clinical translational research, molecular genetics, cell biology, pathology and immunology. His current research is understanding and modifying the inflammatory response in chronic inflammation by tweaking receptors, signaling, gene transcription and epigenetics. He has authored more than 240 peer-reviewed papers.
 
téléchargement.jpgProf. Anton Sculean is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontology and Executive Director of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Berne, Switzerland. His research interests focus on periodontal wound healing, regenerative and plastic-esthetic periodontal therapy, use of antibiotics, antiseptics and novel approaches such as lasers and photodynamic therapy in the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant infections. He has authored more than 300 articles and was president of the Periodontal Research Group, the Swiss Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology.
 
téléchargement (1).jpgProf. Dieter D. Bosshardt is Head of the Robert K. Schenk Laboratory of Oral Histology at the School of Dental Medicine of the University of Bern. His main scientific interests are located in the fields of tooth development, in particular cementogenesis, periodontal tissue regeneration, bone regeneration, and healing events associated with dental implants and other biomaterials such as bone substitute materials and barrier membranes. He has authored more than 195 original articles, review articles, case reports, and book chapters. He is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the Osteology Research Academy (ORA).
 
téléchargement (3).jpgPD, Dr.med.dent  Catherine Giannopoulou graduated from the Athens School of Dental Medicine, Greece, she joined the Division of Periodontology at the University Clinic of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva and obtained her Privat Docent in 2010. She is highly implicated in the dental student and residency education and in research with special interest in the link between periodontitis and systemic diseases. She is member of the Swiss Society of Periodontology (SSP) and member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).
 
téléchargement (4).jpgProf Stavros Kiliaridis is Director of the Division of Orthodontics at the University Clinic of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva. He graduated from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and received his Odont Dr/PhD from Göteborg University, Sweden, where he also completed his specialist education in Orthodontics. He has authored or co-authored over 200 research papers and book-chapters and has received several distinctions and international awards. He is president of the Network for Erasmus Based European Orthodontic Programmes (NEBEOP).
 
téléchargement (2).jpgPD, Dr.med.dent Norbert Cionca graduated from the University of Geneva School of Dental Medicine and is a Swiss board certified periodontist. He is a lecturer and works at the Division of Periodontology and Oral Physiopathology at the University Clinic of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva since 2005. His research involves peri-implantitis, zirconia and titanium implants and periodontal therapy. He is member of the Swiss Society of Periodontology (SSP) and member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).
