BOOSTER PROGRAMME: WHY AND HOW TO APPLY?
The Faculty of Medicine launches the 6th edition of the Booster Programme. The previous editions provided financial support to 25 PhD students in life sciences and boosted their communication skills and careers.
New rules this year: all candidates will benefit from personalised coaching to help them present their thesis project in front of the camera with improved efficacy. At the end of this process, 5 grants of 5'000 CHF each will be awarded.
Step 1 : All candidates participate in the auditions in front of a jury composed of 4 professors and 3 communication professionals.
Step 2: All candidates will be coached to improve their presentation and present it in front of the camera. We will produce short videos of 3 minutes per candidate/project for a non-scientific audience. The videos will be published on the Faculty of Medicine website, as well as on UNIGE's social media.
Step 3: Selection of 5 finalists based on the video presentations in addition to the auditions criteria. The 5 selected PhD students will receive a grant of CHF 5'000 each to be used, for example, to participate in international meetings, to follow training courses, to visit laboratories abroad, or to cover the printing costs of their thesis.
- This programme is exclusively open to PhD/MD-PhD students of the Faculty of Medicine as well as for PSLS students
- Candidates must have completed at least 18 months of their PhD by 31 mars 2024 (this rule doesn't apply to MD-PhD students) and finish their PhD no sooner than June 2025 (to have time to disburse the grant).
