Nina S. Studer est une historienne et arabiste suisse, spécialiste de l'histoire coloniale de médecine et de psychiatrie. Elle s'intéresse à l'intersection de la médecine et psychiatrie coloniale avec les questions de genre et des habitudes de consommation des boissons diverses, comme l'absinthe, le thé et le café, le vin et l'Orangina.
Actuellement post doc dans le cadre du projet "Nuits polluantes: masculinité et médecine en Suisse et en France (XVIII - XX siècles) " lien
Nina a obtenu son master en histoire générale et en arabe de l'Université de Zürich en 2009 avec une thèse sur l'histoire de "l'enfant endormi" au Maroc dans les publications des médecins coloniaux. Elle a fait ses études de Ph.D. aux Universités de Zürich et d'Oxford entre 2009 et 2012, travaillant sur la représentation des femmes musulmanes de l'Afrique du Nord par les psychiatres coloniaux.
De 2017 à 2021, elle travaillait pour le projet "The Roots of Citizenship? The Politics of Participation in Syria, Lebanon and Turkey between Two Ages (1880-1940)", à l'Université de Berne, conduisant des recherches sur la participation des femmes syriennes et libanaises dans les mouvements de protestation pendant la période des mandats.
Pendant 2014 et 2023, Nina faisait partie - comme chercheuse ou enseignante - des universités de Zürich, Marburg, Heidelberg, Hamburg et Bâle.
En décembre 2023, elle rejoint le projet "Les pollutions nocturnes, médecine et masculinités : explorations sur la longue durée (XVIIIe-XXe siècles, France-Suisse)" de Dr. Francesca Arena.
