ABOUT US

Each year 200 students participate in our unique courses which are designed to help a range of people, including humanitarian professionals wanting to increase or diversify their expertise, graduate students who want to enter the field of humanitarianism, and other professionals who want to swap sectors. Our tailor-made courses, developed with our humanitarian partners, including ICRC and MSF, reflect the current trends and needs within the humanitarian sector.

The Geneva Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action, is a dynamic academic and research centre based in Geneva. It is a joint centre of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE).

We bring together academia and humanitarian organisations to offer a wide range of postgraduate courses in humanitarian action, develop research in humanitarian studies and strengthen reflection in humanitarian action with the ultimate goal to contributing to a better humanitarian response.
