Background

I completed my PhD training in biomedical engineering at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Charité – Berlin University Medicine, Germany. My doctoral research focused on investigating non-invasive electrophysiological biomarkers such as non-linear neural interaction, functional network, and heart-brain interaction characterizing healthy aging and movement disorder such as Parkinson’s Disease based on EEG.

Current project

I am working on two SNF-funded projects: “Precision brain mapping of electrical brain networks dynamics with application to epilepsy”, a Sinergia consortium co-led by Prof Vulliémoz, and “Network analysis to predict patient eligibility for epilepsy surgery” led by Dr Nicolas Roehri. The latter focuses on applying functional connectivity together with clinical data to a large dataset to develop an interpretable machine learning algorithm which aids in predicting which patients might promisingly benefit from the surgery. In parallel, related to Sinergia, I am interested in the interaction between different brain sub-networks in epilepsy and how this interaction is associated with surgical eligibility and post-surgical outcome.
