Itziar Muneta Arrate graduated with a degree in Pharmacy in 2017 from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain. She subsequently earned her Ph.D. at the Neuropsychopharmacology Research Group of UPV/EHU, under the supervision of Prof. J. Javier Meana, where her research focused on the functional selectivity of the 5-HT2A receptor and its implications in schizophrenia. During her doctoral studies, she moved to Montreal, Canada for a research stay in the lab of Prof. Michel Bouvier. Following her Ph.D., she joined the laboratory of Prof. Christian Lüscher in Geneva, Switzerland where she acquired knowledge in circuit neuroscience, particularly related to addiction models. In November 2024, Itziar joined the Stoeber team as a postdoctoral researcher, where she continues her research on GPCRs.
