An amazing lecture from Pre Francesca Peri
On the 23rd of January 2024, Pre Francesca PERI, Department of Molecular Life Sciences, University of Zurich, invited by Pre Anne-Claude GAVIN, has given an amazing lecture entitled "Brain imaging across scales: studying neuronal-microglial interactions during CNS development".
Pre Francesca PERI aims to dynamically quantify the neuronal-immune interactions in the brain. She investigates in particular how, during the development of the vertebrate brain, a group of resident immune cells, the microglia, are able to identify and remove dying neurons that fail to integrate within functional circuits. During her talk, she presented her recent discoveries on how microglia identify and eliminate dying neurons.
