April 15: PhD defence of Mr Arthur Radoux

On the 15th of April 2024, Mr Arthur Radoux successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "GPCR localization and signaling at distinct subcellular sites". His thesis was conducted under the direction of Pre Miriam Stoeber from the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism.

Opioid drugs are widely used to alleviate pain, but they come with some severe side-effects. Figuring out exactly how they work is thus super important. During his PhD, Arthur Radoux took advantage of new molecular tools to observe the action of opioids at different locations inside the cells and discovered that where they do their job can totally modify the responses they trigger.
