June 21: a lecture from Prof. Geraldine Seydoux

Prof. Geraldine SEYDOUX, Howard Hughes Medical Institute & Department of Molecular Biology, Johns Hopkins University, USA, invited by Prof. Monica GOTTA will give a lecture entitled “Biology meets Physics: RNA granule assembly in C. elegans”.
Her lecture will take place on Friday 21st of June at 11am in the auditorium J-L Reverdin B02.2526, CMU.
Her lab uses the C. elegans model to study the function and assembly of RNA granules in a native, whole animal context. She will discuss the possibility that RNAs are recruited to the granules not for regulation, but to assemble interfacial nanoclusters that stabilize the protein-rich liquid core of RNA granules.
