The PHYM Department welcomes Dr. Charna Dibner as a new PI in Nov 2016
It was recently decided that the department will be proud to welcome Dr. Charna Dibner as a new PHYM member PI this coming November (2016). Her group, consisting of scientific collaborator Dr. Ursula Loizides-Mangold, senior research scientists Dr. Volodymyr Petrenko, Dr. Camille Saini and Dr. Laurianne Giovanonni, and PhD students Anne-Marie Maklouff and Laurent Perrin, will be moving to the 5th floor of the CMU.
Dr. Dibner completed her PhD in Medical Sciences in 2002 at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology and her postdoctoral studies in the Department of Molecular Biology at University of Geneva, with Professor Ueli Schibler.
Dr. Dibner has been a group leader in the Department of Internal Medicine Specialties, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Hypertension and Nutrition at the HUG since 2009, and is also currently a member of the new Faculty Diabetes Center as well as the Institute for Genetics and Genomics in Geneva (iGE3). Her research is focused on understanding the role of circadian rhythms in physiology, and in metabolic diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
