A new president for the Section of Clinical Medicine
From 1 October 2024, Prof. Sophie DE SEIGNEUX will take up the challenge of leading the Section of Clinical Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva, as its President. The research carried out by the Section of Clinical Medicine's hundred or so laboratories is geared towards new therapeutic solutions, improved diagnostic tools, prevention, quality of care, and patient support and guidance.
In 2014, Prof. Sophie DE SEIGNEUX was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Associate Assistant professor in the Nephrology Service at the HUG, and in October 2015 she was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and in the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism. Her laboratory's research focuses on the pathophysiology and monitoring of chronic kidney disease, a frequent and disabling disease, as well as its complications.
