Getting started
The first step for using the zebrafish core facility is a discussion about the services required and the rationale, goal and design of any experiments. A timeframe and budget can then be planned.
Please contact Richard Fish for this initial meeting.
Veterinary authorizations - Key points
Manipulation of zebrafish embryos until the fifth day of development does not require a veterinary authorization in Switzerland.
Generation of stable mutants and transgenic lines requires veterinary declarations which are discussed prior to any experimentation.
The use of zebrafish older than 5 days, or the maintenance and use of lines with phenotypic constraint requires an experimental authorization. The platform can provide advice and assistance with authorizations if necessary. All costs relative to veterinary authorizations are met by users.
