The employment conditions for people paid by cantonal funds (Department for Public Education (DIP)) or by external funds (SNSF or other institutional funds) are very similar. However, DIP contracts are governed by public law whereas contracts paid for by institutional funds are covered by private law, which explains a certain number of differences.
