Roberta Faggian obtained a Master Degree in computing at the University of Ca’ Foscari in Venice (Italy) in 1999. Roberta Faggian continued her research activities at CERN (Switzerland) in the Education and Technology Transfer department and, later on, in the IT department for more than 10 years. During this time, she assumed the role of section leader responsible for managing CERN’s contribution to a number of international projects co-funded by the European Commission. She was also appointed as coordinator of the liaison office with partner collaborations exploiting the grid technology developed at CERN. Roberta Faggian acquired knowledge and experience in the field of IT services for research infrastructures (ITIL Certification v3 in 2008) and project management (PMP Certification in 2010).
In 2010 she was in charge of a short mission for the NGO International AIDS Society (IAS) in Geneva, for the management of the scholarships for participation to the international AIDS conference held in Vienna (848 scholarship recipients for more than 19,000 conference participants). After that, she joined the Research and Grants Office of the University of Geneva as scientific advisor for European Research. Specialized in the ERC programme and in charge of the support to research infrastructures programme, she is also responsible for the IT applications developed for the Research and Grants office.
