After getting a bachelor in physics engineering at politechnic of Milan, Giacomo obtained a master in Applied physics at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland). He developed scientific and programming competence to give his contribution to projects in the fields of integrated photonics, nuclear fusion, and renewable energy systems. In particular, as master Thesis student in the renewable energy systems group, Giacomo analysed power-to-x scenarios in swiss electricity, and the competition between battery and power-to-x. After graduation, Giacomo joined again renewable energy systems group at UNIGE to analyse, in the SWEET SURE framework, the impact of different weather conditions in a Swiss electricity system with high shares of renewables.
