Titulaire d'un doctorat en Science, politique et gestion de l'environnement de l'Université de Californie à Berkeley, Jörg Balsiger est professeur associé au Département de géographie et environnement de l'Université de Genève et à l'Institut des sciences de l'environnement (ISE).

Jörg Balsiger is Associate Professor at the Department of Geography and Environment (Geneva School of Social Sciences) and the Institute for Environmental Sciences.

Axes de recherche

Spécialiste reconnu de la gouvernance régionale de l’environnement et du développement durable, ses activités récentes comprennent la recherche fondamentale et appliquée en matière de coopération régionale de l’environnement ; gouvernance transfrontalière en régions de montagne ; promotion de l’activité scientifique sur les montagnes à l’échelle nationale, régionale et globale ; et transdisciplinarité et éducation en vue du développement durable.

 

As an internationally recognized environmental governance and sustainable development expert, his recent activities include basic and applied research on regional environmental cooperation; transboundary mountain governance; science promotion and advocacy at the national  regional, and global level; as well as transdisciplinarity and education for sustainable development.
