Irene Pellegrini
After my degree in Sociology, during my doctoral studies in Rome, I focused my methodological interest and expertise in qualitative methodology and, in particular, in narrative and biographical research design. At the same time my theoretical focus has been in minority identities and my doctoral research has been built by 24 narrative interviews with non-heterosexual people exploring their idea of family and life project. In the last four years, working in Swiss institutions, and in particular at the School of Social Sciences of the University of Geneva, I could improve my research experience and my expertise both,theoretically and methodologically. In the researches, Dalla valigia di cartone al web and Alla(Ri)scoperta dell’italianità in Svizzera, I could focus my theoretic interests in migration and mobilities studies. Methodologically, I developed my previous specialization in the qualitative research strategies, exploring the field of the digital methodologies. In particular, in the research Dalla valigia di cartone al web we carry out a qualitative and participative research design, using social platform, as Facebook, Tumbler, Storify, to encourage public engagement.
