Thibault Garel obtained his PhD in November 2011 from the University of Lyon. He was a SuperScience fellow at Swinburne university from 2012 to 2014 and a postdoc at the Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon from 2015 to 2018. He started in November 2018 as a Maître assistant in the Reionization team (with Prof. Anne Verhamme) at Geneva Observatory. His research focuses on the formation and evolution of galaxies and the cosmic reionization. He is developing models of galaxy formation within large cosmological simulations (GALICS: Galaxies in Cosmological simulations) and numerical simulations of radiation transfer. He is a member of the MUSE (Multi Unit Spectrograph Explorer) consortium, the RASCAS (RAdiation SCattering in Astrophysical Simulations) team, the Theoretical Astrophysical Observatory, and the SPHINX project.
