When healthy cells stimulate the migration of tumor cells

Estrogens bind to receptors including GPER, which is generally located in cell membranes. The team of Didier Picard has however discovered a nuclear variant of GPER, which has different properties. This study, published on May 24, 2017 in Oncotarget, reveals that the fibroblasts carrying this variant facilitate the invasiveness of neighboring breast malignant cells.
