Simple ligands, catalyst, and conditions: The combination of readily prepared unsymmetrical pyridine–imine ligands and [CpRu(CH₃CN)₃][PF₆] (Cp=C₅H₅) affords regio- and enantioselective Carroll rearrangements (see scheme; b/l= branched-to-linear ratio). This reaction represents the first example of Ru-catalyzed enantioselective CC bond-forming allylic substitution.
