The Faculty of Science is pleased to announce that the Scienscope (Faculty of sciences) and the Poliscope (Faculty of Social Sciences) have jointly received the Médaille de l'Innovation during this year’s Dies academicus. This prestigious award recognizes their outstanding contributions to engaging the public through innovative educational and research initiatives.

The Scienscope has been honored for its pivotal role in promoting science education and literacy. Each year, the Scienscope welcomes more than 25’000 students, offering hands-on activities and interactive workshops across ten scientific disciplines. These activities make scientific knowledge accessible to all, while encouraging young people to explore careers in science. Scienscope’s efforts not only demystify complex scientific concepts but also inspire the next generation to contribute to future research and innovation.

Poliscope, from the Faculty of Social Sciences, has been recognized for connecting academia with the public on crucial social issues. Through debates, role-playing exercises, and an interactive multimedia installation, Poliscope helps participants explore topics such as migration, inequality, and gender. These initiatives encourage informed public dialogue with the support of faculty experts.

The Médaille de l'Innovation, awarded annually since 2013, highlights the University’s dedication to fostering creativity and leveraging academic expertise for the public good.
