Scienscope Partners with Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy

The Faculty of Science at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) is proud to announce a new grant agreement between the Scienscope, our scientific mediation center, and Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy. This partnership combines Scienscope’s expertise with Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy’s vision to inspire Swiss youth to engage with biodiversity through innovative cross-disciplinary workshops. Starting in 2025, these workshops will be offered to students aged 7 to 19, fostering curiosity and environmental awareness. The collaboration also creates valuable synergies with the foundation’s educational program, Sow My Dream.
"I’m delighted to support this new educational programme in partnership with Scienscope and UNIGE, which fosters awareness of how science can help address the environmental challenges we face. Together, we can nurture the next generation of biodiversity champions.” says Dona Bertarelli, Executive Chair of Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy.
“We are delighted to welcome Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy as our new partner. We look forward to expanding and enriching our educational activities by combining our structure, local network, and methodologies with the foundation’s resources and expertise in biodiversity.” says Michel Gauthier-Clerc, Director of Scienscope.
Since 2015, Scienscope has provided workshops in various disciplines, including biology (Bioscope), chemistry (Chimiscope), computer science (Infoscope), mathematics (Mathscope), pharmacy (Pharmascope), physics (Physiscope), astronomy (Astroscope), Anthropology (Anthroposcope), life sciences (Lifescope) and environment (Enviroscope), offering students and teachers a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of these fields. This new partnership reflects a shared vision of fostering a sustainable future and nurturing biodiversity advocates of tomorrow.
