Yvon Reimers
Inspecteur de Police judiciaire - Brigade scientifique
After focusing on immunology during his Master's in Biology and acquiring hands-on experience in biological and biochemical laboratory techniques, Mr. Reimers continued his training in forensic sciences (Master's degree). There, he deepened his knowledge of DNA, particularly in calculating allele frequency distributions and their implications in criminal investigations, while also receiving general training in other scientific fields impacted by forensic sciences. Subsequently, Mr. Reimers specialized in three key areas: document fraud (ink chemistry, the manufacturing of substrates such as paper and plastics), fire investigation (including the physico-chemistry of fire development), and firearms analysis (ballistics, the physico-chemical phenomena related to firearm operation, such as gunpowder combustion, as well as the functioning and manufacturing of weapons).
