Two openings at the level of Associate Professor in the field of Computational diplomacy

Science diplomacy is a fast growing field of research, education, and practice aiming to improve the understanding of global issues while redefining the theoretical framework of international relations through the potential of the digital age. The capabilities offered by technological advances in information technology may help capture international relations in all their complexity, tackle national and global challenges while opening the door to a new way of thinking. Within that frame, the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science on the one hand, and the Global studies Institute on the other hand, plant the seeds of computational diplomacy in Geneva and invite applications for two highly complementary full-time positions at the level of Associate Professor in this interdisciplinary field.

The two positions are :

  • Position 1 is in the field of Computational Diplomacy and Complex System Approach to Governance Design.
The candidate is expected to develop new computational and complex systems approaches to diplomacy and governance design, in connection with the concomitant and complementary position described below in methodological methods for computational diplomacy. This is a full charge position with courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The candidate is expected to implement a comprehensive research agenda on computational diplomacy from a complexity lens and translates this agenda into articles of the highest scientific quality, value and impact.
