Conference : A city on Mars?

In collaboration with the  Faculty of Science of University of Geneva, the Physics Section is organising a special conference on 4 September 2024 on the theme of the conquest of space.

A city on Mars: can we colonise space, should we colonise space, and have we really thought about it?

Date: 4 September at 3pm.
Venue: Auditorium A100, Sciences 2, Quai Ernest Ansermet 30, Geneva.

This talk, given by Zach Weinersmith, will cover as many topics as possible in the field of space colonisation, from geology to medicine, psychology, law, economics and politics, trying to give the most realistic assessment of the current state of affairs while clearing up a variety of common points of confusion in the public discourse around space expansion.

Zach Weinersmith is best known for drawing the comic strip Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, as well as a number of popular popular science books. His most recent book is A City on Mars, co-written with his wife, Dr Kelly Weinersmith.
