JAES 2023 Early Career Best Paper Award
Dr Cheikh Ibrahima Faye has received the Award for the Best Paper by an African Early Career Geoscientist published in the Journal of African Earth Sciences in 2023. The award is a recognition and an encouragement of the work of an African early career geoscientist who is currently affiliated with an African academic institution. The awarded paper is entitled Magmatic arc construction within the Kedougou-Kenieba inlier, eastern Senegal: Petrographic, lithogeochemical and radiogenic isotope constraints. This paper is part of Dr Cheikh Ibrahima Faye’s PhD thesis defended in March 2023, under the joint supervision (co-tutelle) of the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) of Dakar, Senegal and the University of Geneva. Dr Cheikh Ibrahima Faye is a lecturer-researcher at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines et de la Géologie at UCAD. His research focuses on mineral resources and their geodynamic and metallogenic framework.
