The Covenant
Biblical, Historical and Theological Perspectives
University of Geneva, May 9-10, 2022
Online conference in English
The theme of covenant has been significant to the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions since their beginnings. As a way of characterizing the life God and God’s people share, covenant has proven to be a rich source for theological reflection. As a way of describing human institutions and social relations, covenant continues to shape ethical debates and political practices around the world. This conference will explore the history of covenantal thought from its biblical roots through contemporary Jewish and Christian theology, the ethical significance of covenant, and the role of covenant in inter-religious dialogue. The conference will take place in English.
