Matthias Kuhn holds a Master’s degree in Materials Sciences from EPFL and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management. After graduating from EPFL, he worked for 7 years in the fragrance and flavor industry in international sales and marketing. During and after his MBA, his interest in entrepreneurship grew; he carried out numerous mandates for start-ups in the UBC (University of British Columbia, Vancouver) ecosystem and managed projects for the EMEA Marketing division of HP in Germany. He acted as an advisor for Unilever’s Venture Capital arm (Unilever Ventures) in the Netherlands. There, he succeeded in raising around EUR 1M in funding for one of his projects. 

Since 2005, Matthias has been a Licensing Officer at Unitec, where he commercializes technologies in the field of physical sciences. He is co-founder and manager of the INNOGAP proof of concept fund, which has been supporting technology projects since 2009. He is co-founder of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Geneva, where he organizes an annual start-up competition for students and researchers.

 He is currently President of the Swiss Technology Transfer Association (Switt) and occasionally acts as an international trainer for the WIPO SME Division.
