Battle Creek Idea

Battle Creek Idea. Battle Creek, MI.: Battle Creek Sanitarium, 1907-1916.

The Battle Creek Idea was a weekly magazine designed to promote the Battle Creek Sanitarium, established in 1876 and administered by John Harvey Kellogg and his wife Ella. The regime offered at the Sanitarium involved rigorous exercise, fresh air, hydrotherapy, and a restricted vegan diet. Note that a booklet advertising the Battle Creek Sanitorium was published under the same name about thirty years before the launch of the magazine. See The Battle Creek Idea.
