Chicago Vegetarian

Chicago Vegetarian. Chicago Vegetarian Society. 1896-1899.

Carrica Le Favre founded the Chicago Vegetarian Society in 1889. The journal published articles by writers like J. Howard Moore and Henry S. Clubb, and offered accounts of lectures, lifestyle advice, and recipes. Le Favre edited the "home" section of Food, Home and Garden, the magazine with which the Chicago Vegetarian merged to become The Vegetarian Magazine [and Our Fellow Creatures].
