About Us

Uni4Refugees is a cooperation project of several Swiss higher education institutions and stakeholders from the field of asylum and integration. It is managed and led by the project teams of START! Study – University Integration Program at the University of Zurich and Horizon Académique at the University of Geneva. Further project partners from higher education are the Geneva Graduate Institute, the HES-SO Genève, the University of Lucerne, ZHAW and the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).

In addition to that, the project is carried by various affiliated partners from the field of asylum, integration and education, namely by swissuniversities, the State Secretariat for Migration SEM, Scholars at Risk Switzerland and Perspectives – Studies of the Swiss Student Union (VSS-UNES-USU).

All partners are represented in the national assembly. The national assembly serves as the sounding board of the project and ensures the national coordination of Uni4Refugees. Additionally, two regional boards coordinate the regional activities of the two hubs in Eastern and Western Switzerland.

All project partners are involved in the planning, organization and hosting of the activities of Uni4Refugees according to their own needs, capacities and expertise. 

Uni4Refugees is supported within the framework of the national P7 program «Equal Opportunities and University Development» (2021-2024), which is coordinated by swissuniversities and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation.
