Students Week

We would like to invite students to an event called Students week, co-organized by the projects Uni4Refugees (UNIGE & UZH) and INVOST (HES-SO).

As many of these students are involved or simply interested in refugee integration issues, they might want to expand their knowledge and deepen their skills, which is why we invite them to spend 2 half-days in Bienne, by the lake, for workshops and team-building activities. The purpose of such a trip is to create capacity building and bring a sense of community to the students.

One of the sessions will focus on the legal framework for the reception of refugees, on the integration policy in Switzerland and on an overview of current integration projects in higher education institutions. The second session will address intersectionality, intercultural communication, and discriminations in a concrete way. Finally, we will conclude with a workshop on coaching, which will combine theory and practice.

Food and accommodation will be taken care of, as well as transportation to the venue if they are coming by train. We encourage them to take public transportation or to carpool with other students, but please note we will not reimburse gas or travel by car.

We highly encourage their participation to the event, as students but also as mentors, if they are motivated by finding solutions to these issues and if they want to go home with useful material.
