Synapsy Centers Connected

On March 20, 2025, over 130 researchers gathered in Grandson for the annual Synapsy Network Meeting, dedicated to strengthening ties between Lake Geneva institutions, basic neuroscience, and psychiatric research.
This year’s meeting, hosted by the EPFL Synapsy Center, took place in the inspiring setting of the Salle des Quais in Grandson, on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel. Around one hundred participants attended in person, representing the three centers of the Synapsy Network (UNIGE, EPFL, UNIL/CHUV), which carry forward the legacy of the NCCR-Synapsy.
Professor Christian Lüscher, coordinator of both the Geneva Synapsy Center and the network, opened the event by reaffirming Synapsy’s mission: to foster translational mental health research and reinforce inter-institutional collaboration. He also announced an exciting upcoming initiative: the launch of the Synapsy Prize and its Master Class, scheduled for December 9, 2025.
Keynote talks by Professor Masud Husain (Oxford) on apathy, and Professor Birgit Kleim (Zurich) on resilience, left a strong impression. A lively poster session and informal discussions—helped by good weather and a beautiful lakeside setting—sparked new synergies.
A dynamic edition, future-focused. See you in 2026.
