“L’Intervention Systémique Brève Intégrative (ISBI) :
intervenir sur les relations conjugale et coparentale”

Ce symposium portera sur la présentation du modèle d'Intervention Systémique Brève Intégrative (ISBI), un modèle thérapeutique destiné aux couples de parents.​ Dans le champ de la thérapie de couple, les écrits théoriques et cliniques ont jusqu'ici mis en avant l'importance du travail thérapeutique sur les aspects conjugaux de la vie du couple, comme l'intimité, la sexualité ou encore le partage de valeurs communes. L'évaluation empirique des thérapies de couple a montré leur efficacité, notamment pour améliorer la satisfaction conjugale et le bien-être individuel. Avec les couples de parents, il est cependant nécessaire de théoriser et évaluer le travail sur la relation coparentale, une dimension de la relation qui a été trop longtemps négligée. L'ISBI combine le travail thérapeutique sur les relations conjugale et coparentale, pour permettre une évolution non seulement des aspects individuels et conjugaux, mais aussi de la qualité du lien coparental, celui-ci ayant été décrit comme déterminant pour le fonctionnement familial, et pour l'ajustement socio-émotionnel de l'enfant en particulier. Durant ce symposium, les intervenants présenteront l'état de la littérature sur la relation coparentale, puis décriront le modèle de l'ISBI et ses techniques spécifiques. Des résultats préliminaires tirés d'une recherche en cours visant à soutenir empiriquement ce modèle seront également présentés. 

Brief Integrative Systemic Intervention (ISBI):
Intervening on marital and co-parental relationships

This symposium will introduce the Integrative Brief Systemic Intervention (ISBI) model, a therapeutic approach for parents and couples. In the field of couple therapy, theoretical and clinical work have emphasized the importance of therapeutic work on the marital aspects of the couple's life, such as intimacy, sexuality or how common values are shared. Empirical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of couple therapy, in particular to improve marital satisfaction and individual well-being. However, with couples as parents, it is necessary to theorize and evaluate work on the co-parenting relationship, a dimension of the relationship that has been neglected for far too long. The ISBI combines therapeutic work on conjugal and co-parental relationships to enable an improvement not only of the individual and conjugal aspects, but also of the quality of their co-parental relationship, which has been described as key for family functioning, and for the socio-emotional adjustment of the child. During the symposium, speakers will present the literature on the co-parenting relationship, and then describe the ISBI model and its specific techniques. Preliminary results from an ongoing research to empirically support this model will also be presented.
