USEFUL TIPS |
John Moores University is famous in the UK forits wide selection of language and translation courses (German, French, Italian, Japanese and English for non-native speakers...) The IT resources are noteworthy and the library as well; it is often open during the whole night!
Unfortunately, there are negative aspects too: some courses, in the faculty of media and arts for example, do not welcome many foreign students...

Liverpool
is very lively at night on the weekends (but not oly!). If you go out
to the Uni's pub or to the others that are in the city centre, you will
quickly integrate in the English way of life and you will meet a lot of
nice people.
Do not hesitate to participate in the excursions and activities
organized by the Student Union; foreign students are welcome!
The nightbus service is wonderful: from Friday till Sunday at any time there is no problem getting back home.

Liverpool, the town of The Beatles
A typical English town, Liverpool
has one large city centre and many
residential districts all around which are spread over a wide area.
Everything that can be interesting for you as an international student
is in the city centre: museums, both Universities, bars, tourist sites,
the Catholic and Anglican Cathedrals and Chinatown (mainly for
tourists, but with good restaurants). Do not miss Albert Dock and the
Maritime Museum: exhibitions are interactive (it's the UK system) and
often free...
Finally, Liverpool is especially known because it was the birthplace of "beat music", but most importantly of The Beatles. In this regard, you may visit the famous Penny Lane, the Cavern Club, the Beatles Street, the monument to Eleanor Rigby, the Yellow Submarine, and more. But best of all is the "Beatles Story Museum", you could spend a whole afternoon in it! |
