Aziza is a data scientist and postdoctoral researcher in the division of Infectious Diseases and Mathematical Modelling, and  holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Geneva (UNIGE).

She studied Computer Science at UNIGE, where she obtained her BSc and MSc in 2010 and 2012, respectively. From 2013 to 2018, she was a research and teaching assistant at the Scientific and Parallel Computing group (SPC). She worked on cell-based numerical modelling of epithelial tissues, in close collaboration with biologists and biophysicists. She was the teaching assistant of three courses : « Metaheuristics for Optimisation Problems », « Modelling and Simulation of Natural Phenomena » and « Introduction to Computational Finance ».

In July 2018, she joined the Institute of Global Health, where she investigates the association between socio-behavioural factors and HIV prevalence and incidence in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her work includes data discovery with large and complex datasets, data analytics and artificial intelligence.
