"Adolescent Pregnancy and its Determinants in Burera District, Northern Rwanda, and Nyarugenge District, Kigali City, Rwanda"
Adolescent pregnancy remains a major global public health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where an estimated 21 million adolescents become pregnant each year. This PhD research examined the determinants of adolescent pregnancy in two Rwandan districts—Burera (rural) and Nyarugenge (urban). The study explored the drivers of adolescent pregnancy, the lived experiences of adolescent mothers, and their experiences during and after pregnancy. It also assessed healthcare providers’ perceptions of sexual and reproductive health services offered to adolescents in these settings.
