World Federation of Public Health Associations
The World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) is the global civil society voice for public health. Headquartered in Geneva, the WFPHA brings together over 130 national and regional public health associations, representing millions of public health professionals worldwide. Through advocacy, policy development, and knowledge exchange, the Federation works to advance health equity, strengthen health systems, and promote sustainable development in line with global health and human rights principles.
As a non-governmental organization in official relations with the World Health Organization, the WFPHA plays an active role in shaping international health agendas and fostering collaboration between governments, academia, and civil society. Its leadership includes former President Emma Rawson-Te Patu (2024-2026), a recognized advocate for equity and Indigenous public health approaches, President Raman Bedi (2026-2028), the first dentist to hold this position, and Professor Bettina Borsich, Chief Executive Officer, who oversees the Federation’s global strategy and partnerships from its Geneva base.
The WFPHA is also the organizer of the World Congress on Public Health, one of the leading global platforms for dialogue and innovation in public health.
