Erol is an econometrician and data scientist in the division of Infectious Diseases and Mathematical Modelling at the Institute of Global Health. He holds a Master of Science in Quantitative Economics and a D.E.A. in Econometrics from the University of Geneva and was teaching assistant for the courses "Statistical Methods" and "Statistical Modelling".
After having worked ten years in finance as a quantitative analyst and risk manager, Erol joined the Institute in January 2019 to investigate the association between socio-behavioural information and HIV prevalence and incidence in Sub-Saharan Africa. His work includes risk factor analysis with large and complex datasets and prediction using machine learning methods in R and Python.
