Dr Anne-Laure Pittet
Coordinator CAS in Health Promotion and Community Health
Anne-Laure Pittet is Swiss and obtained her Master's degree in Biology and her PhD in Life Sciences at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland). She completed a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Business Management at the University of Geneva (Switzerland). She was an Associate Researcher at the University Institute of the History of Medicine and Public Health (IUHMSP), Lausanne, Switzerland (2016) and a Freelance Scientist for several years. Her main topic of interest is public health (interactions between the physicians, the pharmaceutical industry and the health authorities/ drugs and laws/ air quality/ etc.) and she completed a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Public Health in September 2023 (continuing education, Geneva University).
She is deeply interested in scientific communication and has been the founding vice-president of the Association Apero.Sciences a non-profit association with the goal of promoting open communication, interaction and exchange between the scientists and the general public which organized scientific conferences outside academia during the Brain Awareness Week and the Week of Taste (2016-2024). She was part during 4 years of the PhD students and Post-Doctoral Fellows organisation BioScienceNetworkLausanne (BSNL) and moderated “Cafés Scientifiques” monthly during 7 years (Association of PhD students and Assistants of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine (ADAS), University of Lausanne (Switzerland). She has been a founding member of Hackuarium, the first "bio-hackerspace" in Switzerland (DIY biology) in 2014.
In September 2024 she joined the Institute of Global Health as Coordinator with the CAS in Health Promotion and Community Health .
