Application procedure

How to apply 

To apply for the PhD in Global Health, some preparation is necessary to put together a complete application package along with the required supporting documents. 

1. First of all, make sure that all minimal requirements are met; 
2. Choose a topic from the list of research topics published on our website starting in October; 
3. Develop your thesis project proposal either based on one of the proposed topics or in collaboration with your future thesis advisor at UNIGE;  
4. Prepare your application file with all required supporting documents;
5. Submit your application via the portal: deadline February 1, 2027

Evaluation and pre-selection

Only fully complete and admissible applications will be forwarded to the Steering Committee for evaluation. The Steering Committee will thoroughly assess all applications and identify the most promising applications.

Pre-selection: By April 2027, all applicants will receive notification regarding the outcome of their application. If your application is successful and pre-selected, your files will be forwarded to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine. The approval for admission into the PhD program will be granted by the Dean's Office, following the advice and recommendations of the Steering Committee. 

Once accepted, it is essential to complete the official enrollment process at the University of Geneva in order to begin your studies in the fall semester of 2027 (September 2027).
